Banger. TLP would be proud (if he could feel anything).

I actually started this post with a much more cynical TLP-style take but then remembered VGR and decided to emulate my kinder uncle instead. Also, reading the full article, Tyler herself comes off and quite guileless — this isn't the gender war stuff you'd expect from the one ATM bit that went viral.

This is a good article but the TLP version would have begun where Jacob ends it. "So these women can't form adult relationships, because... they're trying to spare the feelings of their parents? Freud had a name for that and you won't like it."

At "was poorer", is the comparison supposed to be 2007 vs 2023? The linked chart starts at 2006, which is worse than every year since 2021.

Nice TLP take on the whole thing: interesting to think about whether this is an example of his narcissism or his borderline. Narcissism: it's all about what being with him says about her, not about him at all. Borderline: being with him says something (everything?) about her, she gets her (class) identity from him.

Having climbed up the marriageability curve in, like, twelve months (actually five years, but that's nonlinear returns for you), this feels gloriously distant.

I'm no longer in precarity. I can sidestep premium mediocrity entirely--even if that will require putting kids in bunk beds in an apartment. I am, although still getting acclimated to it, safe.

I think I'll like the weight of a wedding ring.

Nah, the Rothko chick is a straight up clinical narcissist. I followed her for a while to see if the thing with Ivan was an aberration, but her entire public persona is like that. She recently published a paper explaining why she's smarter than all quantum physicists because you could derive quantum physics from Hegel.

Side comment: who uses an ATM in London at all? They've been obsolete for about 5 years, the entire city is contactless.

That sarcasm? At this point, I'm just hoping AI won't find it so easy to crack fields where verification of work isn't trivial.
